I started as a photographer working for several newspapers in the Media24 news group, including: Die Burger, Beeld, Rapport, Kaap Rapport. I also worked for the Independant newspaper group. Just before the first match of the Fifa Soccer World Cup in 2010. Barred from entering because the Fifa Fan Fest at the Grand Parade in Cape Town had already filled to capacity, people still stood and waited for a chance to enter.
Its normally an annual affair in Cape Town that the seas surrounding cape town become very turbulent, especially during high tide where the Promenade in Sea Point is battered by waves, preventing the normal joggers and pedestrians from using their normal route.

A picture taken at the Sea Point Promenade. On this day during high tide, waves were crashing against the drainage outlet pipes, the pressure of which forced water and foam to erupt through the gaps of the man-hole cover. It took almost an hour of waiting to get this shot.
